Are you good at coordination and monitoring tasks? Do you have a firm interest in the financing of renewable energy in emerging markets in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific? Do you enjoy taking responsibility and working within an international team? We are looking for a Coordination & Monitoring Officer in Amsterdam.

Function
Because of an increasing level of activities, we aim to expand the Amsterdam Coordination Team of the GET.invest Finance Catalyst facility. As Coordination & Monitoring Officer you will be responsible for a variety of coordination, reporting, monitoring, verification, research, communication and organisation tasks within the team, providing support where needed to the 25+ team of financial advisors of the GET.invest Finance Catalyst. After a familiarisation period, you will take care of various of these tasks on your own.

The GET.invest Finance Catalyst
Partners for Innovation has been implementing the GET.invest Finance Catalyst facility since 2016. The GET.invest Finance Catalyst links renewable energy projects and companies with finance opportunities and vice versa, targeting small- and medium-scale renewable energy opportunities, currently in sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific region. The Amsterdam Coordination Team manages the global expert team of the GET.invest Finance Catalyst, takes care of programme administration and monitoring, and reports to GET.invest. GET.invest is a European programme, hosted by GIZ, that aims to mobilise investments in decentralised renewable energy projects. It assists private sector business and project developers, financiers and regulators in building sustainable energy markets.

Profile
You have demonstrated that you are good at coordinating and monitoring. You are well-organized, good at setting priorities and maintaining overview. You are communicative and solution-oriented and meet the following criteria:

  1. Master diploma in a relevant field e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or Law
  2. Firm interest in business models and financing of decentralised renewable energy in emerging and developing economies
  3. At least 2 years of professional experience in renewable energy in emerging and developing economies, or 2 years of professional experience in coordination activities at an international level
  4. At least 1 year professional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa or other relevant geographic area(s), or 1 year professional experience in coordination activities at an international level
  5. Profound level of language competence in English (full proficiency, level C2)
  6. Living in the Amsterdam region
  7. Permanent work permit valid for the Netherlands
